About Bas
I'm somewhat new to this platform, but I have a lot of experience!
First, something about my English: I am not natively English (I am Dutch), but I am completely fluent. As you can see I also have several certificates for proficiency in the English language. Besides that my math courses have been in English throughout high school and university, so I know math terminology better in English than in Dutch!
Now about tutoring experience: for two year I have been tutoring high school maths via TopTutors. I receive a lot of positive feedback. Besides I have tutored a university course this year and I have taught exam training in high school.
Before that, I had been tutoring in mathematics, chemistry and English for three years at all levels in high school. I finished high school with the Dutch version of an 'A', so I know how to get good grades!
A large part of my students was in their senior year, and all of them passed their exams.
I asked my ex-students to write a short bit about their experiences with my tutoring sessions. I have translated a few, you can read them below:
"I thought the lessons were always very handy. You can decide for yourself which exercises you want to have explained. My maths grade has also improved and especially my grade for the final exam."

I always try to listen carefully to my students. You are the student, you have to learn something, so I adjust my methods to your needs.
I like to solve exercises together, in which I try to support you and guide you to the solution. I try to help you in your thought process, so that you learn how to best tackle your exercises!
I have been studying applied mathematics at the university for a few years, so I have been spending lots of time on mathematics for a while. Because of that I master high school maths very well, and I don't have to focus on the material itself very hard. Instead, I can focus on how to best convey the information to you.
It is not always practical to do tutoring online, but I have built up some experience with it by now and I have adapted. By now I think that I can give qualitatively good lessons online as well.
