About Akis
Hello, my name is Ioannis, and I am from Larnaca, Cyprus. I am interested in linguistics in general, history and culture. I am very intrigued and curious to learn about everything that has to do with those subjects. Furthermore, I do believe that respect for anything different from us, is the key to a better world.

I have 7 years of teaching experience. I am a qualified teacher with a BA in Russian Philology with a specialization in Russian Language and Literature. Furthermore, I have MA also in Russian Philology - "Teaching Russian as a second language". A Master's degree, which I think "unlocked" a whole new perspective of how I approach students from different ethnicities, and offered me the chance to get to know the majority of all the common mistakes/problems for each one of them that may occur in the process of learning Russian as a second language.
My lessons are not just entertainment and fun, which is considered to be the "new wave" of teaching methodology, but also traditional, more challenging teaching. Nevertheless, I would like to make it clear, that the lessons are full of interest and the best method is to have no specific method, but to bring the lesson to your student by making the right twists that might intrigue him/her to fall in love with the language/culture. That's the entire point, right? That's what tutor's goal should be.
