About Katelyn
I’ve been singing for as long as I can remember—even before I could talk. At age two, I amazed a piano tuner by matching every pitch as he tuned my aunt’s piano. By age five, I was naturally harmonizing by ear. I attended a high school with a highly respected music program before continuing my training at the California Pacific School of Performing Arts and with the Young Americans Performing Arts Collective. Over the years, I’ve led worship at multiple churches and currently serve as the music instructor for a nonprofit in Detroit, where I have the privilege of helping teens discover their voices. Watching students grow in confidence and ability has become one of the most rewarding parts of my own musical journey.

I know how vulnerable singing can feel, which is why creating a safe and encouraging space is at the heart of my teaching. I believe every voice is unique and worthy of being heard. My goal is to create a safe, encouraging environment where students feel comfortable taking risks, asking questions, and discovering what their voices are capable of. My lessons are tailored to each student’s goals and focus on healthy vocal technique, confidence, expression, and enjoying the process.
