I am a school student with a strong commitment to economics. Over the summer holidays, I self taught the SQA higher economics course in order to crash an advanced higher in economics. this required breaking down the course into core concepts and summarising and teaching every part of it to relatives (willing or unwilling)

The approach that I took to learning this myself means that I am comfortable with teaching this course extremely quickly, and the method of getting the pupil to teach a concept back to me has been proven to have the highest retention rates. In a typical lesson, I would come with stimulus material that we would discuss and then try to apply theory to current events.
