About Jessica

Having completed GCSEs along with A-level Biology, Chemistry and Physics, I know the pressure young students are under to achieve the best results and want to help others with my knowledge and experience to reach their academic potential. I have recently completed a Master's degree in Microbiology and Immunology after a Bachelor's in Biology. My first experience with helping other students came when I was in secondary school myself where I helped children with Maths and Reading during lunch hours. Whilst at university, I also took part in a peer mentor programme helping younger students navigate their first years of university.

About the lesson

I use a student-led approach where we adapt the learning techniques to meet individual student needs. The overall aim is to enable the student to develop their own revision techniques outside of tutoring hours. For exam preparation, the focus is on example questions and practice exams to aid in both knowledge and confidence going into examinations. I find going through the marking of exams enables better retention and helps to identify gaps in knowledge.
