About Charlie
I completed my Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Manchester before continuing there as a PhD researcher. My research focused on modelling blood flow around the heart, applying computational fluid dynamics (CFD) to understand complex biological systems.
During my research I taught undergraduate engineering students, which strengthened my ability to explain technical ideas clearly and guide students through complex problem-solving. Alongside this I developed strong programming and modelling skills and later worked in a software engineering role.
More recently I returned to teaching in a UK secondary school, where I taught Science with a Physics focus. That experience reinforced how much I enjoy helping students build confidence in subjects that can initially seem intimidating.

In tutoring sessions I aim to create a calm and supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and exploring ideas. I focus on building strong conceptual understanding while also practising exam-style questions so that students feel prepared and confident when assessments arrive.
I also have experience supporting autistic and ADHD learners and aim to provide clear structure and predictable lesson routines when helpful.
Lesson length begins at an hour and can be extended on request. If your needs require shorter sessions please reach out and we can discuss feasibility.
