About Namra
Hi! I'm Namra, a second-year medical student at the University of Leeds with a passion for helping aspiring medical students achieve their goals.
I decided to become a tutor because I know how challenging the medical school application process can be. Preparing for the UCAT and MMIs can feel overwhelming, and having recently gone through the process myself, I understand the importance of receiving the right guidance and support. I enjoy helping students build both their skills and confidence, so they can approach their applications feeling well prepared.
Teaching has always been something I've enjoyed. Through my experience as a Teaching Assistant, D6 Mentor, and Student Ambassador, I've had the opportunity to support students with different learning styles, helping them overcome challenges and achieve their potential. Seeing someone grow in confidence and succeed is one of the most rewarding parts of teaching for me.
As a medical student, I can offer students current and relevant advice on the admissions process, including UCAT preparation, MMI interviews, and what medical schools are looking for. My aim is to create a friendly, encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and developing the skills they need to succeed.
Whether you're just starting your preparation or looking to refine your interview technique, I'm committed to helping you achieve your goal of studying medicine.

My teaching style is centred around creating a supportive, interactive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and learning from their mistakes. Every student has different strengths and areas for improvement, so I tailor each lesson to their individual needs and learning style rather than following a one style fits all approach.
For UCAT preparation, I focus on teaching effective strategies alongside timed practice. We'll work through questions together, discuss the reasoning behind the answers, identify common pitfalls, and develop techniques to improve both speed and accuracy. I also provide personalised feedback after each session so students know exactly what to focus on before the next lesson.
For MMI preparation, I use realistic mock interview stations designed to reflect the style of medical school interviews. After each station, I provide detailed, constructive feedback on communication, structure, ethical reasoning, and confidence. We'll practise a range of station types, including role-play, ethical scenarios, NHS and current healthcare topics, teamwork, and motivation for studying medicine.
My aim is to help students communicate naturally while demonstrating the qualities that medical schools are looking for.
As a second-year medical student at the University of Leeds, I have recently been through the medical school admissions process myself, giving me up-to-date insight into UCAT preparation and MMI interviews.
Alongside my studies, I have developed strong teaching and mentoring skills through my roles as a Teaching Assistant, D6 Mentor, and Student Ambassador. These experiences have taught me how to explain difficult concepts clearly, adapt my communication to different learners, and build students' confidence in a positive and encouraging way.
Lessons are typically 60 minutes long and are delivered online. They are suitable for Year 11 and Sixth Form students, gap-year applicants, and anyone preparing to apply for medical school. Whether you're aiming to improve your UCAT score, build confidence for MMIs, or simply gain a better understanding of the application process, I will work with you to create a personalised plan that helps you achieve your goals.
