You are here because traditional classroom based learning isn't working for you.
This could be for any number of reasons: environmental, emotional, pace of lessons, boredom...
My methodology is based on drilling down to the real basics of the subject and spending time to build a solid foundation.
Lessons are focused, short (30 minutes) and interactive.
I always begin with rigorously checking a student's understanding of the subject, then exploring that understanding and building on it as far as possible in the time.
Each session is bespoke, student-led and designed to instill a questioning, challenging love of learning that will give confidence in that subject and also the rest of the student's educational career.
I have taught small group and 1-1 lessons in both primary and secondary schools for seven years, especially focusing on core skills and building confidence in subjects such as Maths and English.
My previous career was in broadcasting and advertising, working for the BBC and commercial radio.
I have a degree in Geography (Nottingham Uni), and qualification in teaching numeracy booster classes (Edge Hill University).
I try to be as flexible as possible in terms of planning a course of lessons, so will always look to reschedule a session if regular times can't be met. As such, the only cutoff time would be if I have started to travel to the student for that lesson. Obviously, the more notice I get, the better.
