About Charnque
Picking up the fiddle by ear felt like finding a secret language when I started 13 years ago at bluegrass festivals. Traveling across the American South shaped my understanding of how music lives in the air rather than just on the page. My 6 years of experience includes helping hobbyists and teens find their footing with the instrument. I focus on posture and hold to ensure comfort while building double stops or spiccato bowing.
Adults often struggle with tuning by ear, but I guide them through the process slowly and carefully. I enjoy playing for my own peace of mind after a long day of teaching.

Pacing remains the most vital element of our time together because rushing through technique creates more problems than it solves. Beginners often want to jump into vibrato or shifting positions before they have a solid foundation in scales and arpeggios. I watch your bow arm closely to provide feedback on tone production and staccato bowing.
You might find that small adjustments to your hand position yield massive improvements in sound quality. We prioritize clear bowing technique before adding complex ornamentation to your repertoire.
Those 6 years in the field have taught me that patience eventually yields the best results for my students. I always keep my own fiddle nearby so we can play through tricky sections together. Connecting with the music feels best when your technical foundation supports your creative instincts. I look forward to hearing your progress during our next session.
