About Samuel

I first took an interest in Japanese in college, but starting with duolingo and grinding textbook exercises, I didn't get very far.

That is until I realised that I could enjoy learning Japanese by focusing on what I found interesting! I went on to spend over a year working various jobs in Japan, and was able to improve my Japanese from upper beginner (N4) to fluent (N1) in just under 2 years. And I'm still learning!

Now I want to share what I've learnt with you.

About the lesson

The only way to succeed in studying Japanese is to ENJOY THE PROCESS!

I'll help give you the best chance of reaching your language learning goals. How? By focusing your learning around what you enjoy doing, setting challenging and exciting but also achievable goals and showing you ways to study that are genuinely effective AND enjoyable.

I have experience teaching both Japanese and English in Japan, and want to share with you the techniques that I used to go from 0 to N1 without boring textbooks or repetitive exercises.
