About Wenjing
Hi! I’m a Senior student in the MaCS program, and I’ve recently finished all of the high school chemistry curriculum. I know how tough it can be when things don’t quite click in class, and I’m here to help make chemistry feel a lot more manageable (and maybe even fun!). I focus on explaining things clearly and making sure you feel comfortable asking any questions, no pressure, no judgment. I’m reliable, easy to talk to, and always happy to go at your pace. Whether you're trying to boost your marks or just get through a tricky unit, I’ve got you!

Hi! I’m a Senior student from William Lyon Mackenzie’s MaCS program (Math and Computer Science), and I tutor high school chemistry from Grades 9–12. I’ve completed the entire Canadian chemistry curriculum, and my teaching style is built around understanding, not memorization.
Teaching Methodology & Techniques:
I focus on helping students understand the “why” behind concepts so they can build a strong foundation and apply them confidently on tests. I explain things in clear, simple terms, often using analogies or visual examples that make abstract ideas easier to grasp. I also work closely with students to improve their test-taking strategies, especially for common problem types or tricky multiple-choice questions.
Typical Lesson Plan:
(I like to teach each unit a bit ahead of when they need to learn it in school)
- Quick review of the topic or goals of the session
- Comprehensive lesson on the concept (taught from scratch or as reinforcement)
- Student questions + walkthroughs (based on homework, tests, or classroom confusion)
- Practice problems/test prep tailored to the student’s needs
If the student is prepping for a contest (like the Avogadro or Chem 13 News) or an upcoming test, we’ll dedicate the session to that.
What Sets Me Apart:
What sets me apart is that I’m a student myself, one who just finished what you’re going through. I know what teachers emphasize, what shows up on tests, and where most students get stuck. I’m also used to explaining things to classmates and younger students in ways that make sense without overcomplicating. I don’t just help students get the right answers—I help them feel confident about why they’re right.
