I'm a Psychology senior at the University at Buffalo (graduating December 2026, 4.0 GPA) with hands-on research experience as a research assistant in UB's Auditory Perception and Action Lab. I scored 99% on a recent factorial ANOVA research paper and consistently score in the high 90s on exams, and I'm currently prepping for the GRE with a 91st-percentile Verbal, 80th-percentile Quant, and 5.0 Written as my latest practice score.

A typical lesson starts with figuring out exactly where you're getting stuck, whether that's a specific concept, a type of problem, or not knowing how to study the material efficiently. From there, I break things down into small, connected pieces rather than throwing the whole topic at you at once, and I lean on techniques like semantic encoding (linking new information to things you already understand) since that's proven to be one of the most effective ways to actually retain material, not just recognize it on a test.
For GRE prep, this might mean building out vocabulary through word relationships and roots instead of flashcard memorization, or working through quant problems by identifying the underlying pattern so you can solve variations of it, not just that one question. For stats and psych courses, that might mean connecting a new concept, like an ANOVA or a cognitive bias, to something you already know or have experienced, so it sticks as an idea you understand rather than a definition you memorized. We'll usually work through a real example together first, then you'll work a problem yourself while I help you catch where your reasoning goes off track.
