About Sophie
My yoga journey started 8 years ago with Hatha and Iyengar before I moved on to a strong Ashtanga Vinyasa practice coupled with a restorative and mindful Yin practice. I now teach both, having qualified from a year-long teacher training programme with Merchant City Yoga in 2017 and an intensive Yin Yoga and Yoga Nidra training in January 2019. After assisting my teacher for 18 months I have taught at a number of locations across the world, and now offering private tuition in Sheffield for beginners and intermediate students alike.

My teaching is entirely tailored to the needs of your mind and body - I can lead fast classes to work up heat in the body and build strength and stability, whilst also leading soft classes that target the vagus nerve and relaxation response, working in a more meditative style which has been shown to have greater mental health benefits. The class really depends on you - this is your yoga.
