About Shilpi
Shilpi Baruri is an internationally acclaimed Indian classical dancer who specializes in Bharatanatyam and Rabindra Nritya.
She is based in Kolkata, India, and has performed in various countries, including the UK, Spain, France, Bangladesh, and Australia.
She combines the best of both
Thanjavur and Vazhuvur dance
forms, which are two of the main styles of Bharatanatyam. She
also experiments with fusion
dance with classical dance.
She is a disciple of Padma Vibhushan Dr Yamini Krishna Murthy, and Padmashree
Chitra Visweswaran, a renowned Bharatanatyam exponent.
She has received many awards among them, the Mother Teresa international award is very prestigious. She is also an ICCR panneled artist and also a graded artist of Doordarshan, the national television network of India.
Although she is an expatriate
Bengali, she has set up her own dance school in Kolkata and many of her students are now well established in their dance fields.

Students are taught methodically, in a step-by-step manner during the class. Videos of the lesson are also provided for review after class.
