About Shpresa

I’m a native French speaker from French-speaking Switzerland and a doctoral researcher in law, currently based in Oxford for a research stay. I have university teaching experience, which has taught me how to explain complex ideas simply and adapt to very different audiences.

About the lesson

My approach: lessons built around you

Every learner is different, so I don’t follow a one-size-fits-all method. In our first lesson, I take time to understand your level, your goals and how you like to learn. Whether you want to feel confident in conversation, prepare for an exam, read French literature or write professional emails, I design each lesson around your needs and adjust as you progress.

How I teach

My lessons combine conversation, practical exercises and authentic materials such as articles, videos, podcasts and everyday situations. I explain grammar clearly and always in context, so it becomes a tool rather than an obstacle. I correct mistakes gently and give you concrete feedback so you can see your progress from one lesson to the next.

Lesson length

Lessons usually last 60 minutes, but I’m happy to offer 45- or 90-minute sessions depending on your schedule and objectives.

Who my lessons are for

All levels, from complete beginners to advanced speakers, as well as students and professionals who need French for their studies or work, including legal and academic French.
