Students of all levels are welcome and their needs and questions about getting better at the guitar will be accomodated and adressed in practice. I base my teaching on breakind down musical concepts, rhythm, scales, harmony, polyphony and giving the student progressively more difficult routines for developing the student's technique as well as their understanding of the fretboard, visually and acoustically. With these excercises students begin to feel the rythm, repeat patterns that are often used in multiple songs (scales shapes and chords relations) and they can start exploring different combinations and trying to make out the songs' structure by ear alone. Slowly gaining true, deep and meaningful musical understanding. Of course the students get to play all the songs they want to learn, from the easiest to the hardest and on that end I can taylor the kind of excercises that each student plays, according to the skills their favourite songs and genres require at the most part.
I am a singer songwriter but also classically trained pianist and composer, self taught at rock guitar but with a lot of proper thoery and composition knowledge. If it is technique, aural skill and improvisation you are after, I can teach you how to break down and analyse every song you listen to and play it correctly and accurately but also to write a solo for it and to improvise arround the basic harmonic ideas.
