About Bobby
I have now been taking voice lessons for about seven years and have attended numerous summer camps and short courses in musical theatre, singing and acting. I also came first in the Carlow college of music festival in 2018, third in 2019, and second in 2020. I have been also performing in musicals all my life as well as performances in and outside of school. I also have eleven years experience playing piano. Hi! I'm a singer with 14 years experience offering online vocal lessons. I've came first place in multiple music competitions and represented Carlow for singing in the community games in 2019. I'm looking to help singers gain confidence and control in their voice, while improving pitch, style and song interpretation. I specialise in pop and musical theatre singing, unfortunately I cannot teach classical but I am currently working on my own classical singing! I believe in transparancy and honesty. Over the many years that I've had lessons in music I've learned first hand that patience and kindness both make a huge difference in your confidence and work as a musician, as well as for your own mental health, so they are both two things I take great care with in my approach.
Lesson's will start with warming up your voice, although feel free to warm up before the lesson to allow more time for singing. You can sing to a backing track or accompany yourself if you like! If you have sheet music I can record a backing track for you if you like as I also have been playing the piano for 11 years. We will be working on a wide variety of things including pitch, projection, dynamics, interpretation, diction and more depending on your individual needs.
These lessons are intended for people who wish to improve their singing as a hobby or on a casual basis. If you are intending to make a career in singing or are looking to prepare for auditions, then I would suggest finding someone else. These lessons are intended for people who just would like to improve their singing or improve their performances.
Lessons on weekends would be ideal but this can be discussed.
