About Nozi Tamia
Hi! I'm a professional musical theater performer and actress (a jack of all trades if you will) still performing to this day. I have experience in live singing and acting. I love helping people grow in their confidence and craft. Performing can be so vulnerable whether it's a first lesson or preparing for shows and/or auditions. With a practical and encouraging approach, I tailor each lesson to each individual.
Growing up classical singing lessons felt daunting as my teacher was incredibly strict and had high standards. Not a bad thing, but once she met me with encouragement and ever so slightly smirked, I felt confident and was happy to even do it wrong but strong.
Now I have been in a Naledi Theatre awards nominated show, closed the awards in the Meatloaf- The rebel ride tribute, recently performed at the Joburg Theatre in Pinocchio, sang at the Teatro as a featured performer at Montecasino, The State Theatre, Theatre on the Square- in acting at 17 and 18 years old. I've been ensemble, a lead, done 2 understudy roles with Nickelodeon being the first company I worked with in 2023. I've learned so much by training non-stop and after that, learning on the job too.
I noticed in a lot of singing lessons, there was so much more I could've learned and now I want to share that.
Helping people understand singing as an instrument, building assertiveness and making it fun and more relaxed, leaves room for willingness to improve. You'll leave feeling stronger and sure of yourself. It takes time and work, but once you get it, my oh my, you just want to do more! The lessons that come with learning also apply to life.
I always make sure to do a check-in on where you are emotionally as singing relies heavily on emotion. This also helps me gauge what we can cover in the lesson and how much we can push further. I look forward to working with you and seeing how much you blossom!

Vocal Coaching, Individualized & Performance-Driven :
Every lesson is tailored to the singer in front of me — their voice, range, experience, and goals. Whether you’re just starting out, actively performing, or preparing for auditions, training is practical, healthy, and built for real-world performance.
I work with singers who want to:
- Build solid vocal technique from the ground up
- Strengthen and refine an already trained voice
- Prepare for performances, auditions, or recordings
-Get focused help on specific material
Training Covers:
- Repertoire: Pop, Jazz, Musical Theatre, Classical
- Technique: Breath support, tone, mix, belt, and control
- Acting through song & lyrical storytelling
- Pitch, listening, musicality
- Vocal care and long-term vocal health
How Lessons Work:
We start with structured vocal warm-ups in every lesson — these are taught so singers can use them safely on their own. Students work on 1–2 songs at a time, learning how to coordinate technique, musicianship, and performance simultaneously. Backing tracks are used at a pace that supports each singer’s development.
Song preparation is guided early on, then becomes expected as we find a rhythm — always with open communication around schedules and workload.
As repertoire builds, we revisit material to strengthen consistency, performance confidence, and storytelling. By weeks 3–4, we begin refining tone, color, and vocal freedom, helping singers develop their sound while building strength and control without strain.
Audition & Performance Coaching
Once singers show technical understanding, we move into audition prep — song choice, current industry expectations, confidence, and the ability to take direction and apply notes quickly.
Students are welcome from day one to bring material they need help with for performances or auditions. Lessons are equally effective for long-term training or short-term performance prep.
I challenge singers thoughtfully — growth comes from consistent work, honest feedback, and practice outside the room.
