I began singing as a young chorister in Wakefield at the age of 7. Since then I have studied singing at Chetham's School of Music until moving to study at Trinity Laban in 2017. At Chetham's, I was the perfect for Victoria House - the younger boarding house. It was here that I assisted teachers in not only looking after but mentoring younger children in music making. I have taught a variety of people of different ages, whether it is simply singing for fun, reigniting an old passion or a want to venture into the musical world with views to excelling in the craft of singing.
When starting with a new pupil, I like to get a scope of what music they are interested in, for what reasons they want to learn to sing and get a real feel for their voice. From then on the road can take many different turns as each voice is individual and I am very keen on nurturing every voice in the best way possible for that particular person.
I am currently a final year undergraduate studying Classical voice at Trinity Laban Conservatoire. I specialise in classical and choral music but also enjoy making the crossover to musical theatre! I have taught 4 different pupils now 3 from back home in West Yorkshire and 1 in London. They have been aged between 7-12. I am also fully DBS checked and very much used to working with kids of all ages thanks to my attendance of a specialist music college in Manchester a few years ago.
