About Kayla
I am a passionate violin tutor with 10+ years of teaching experience, working with high school students, college learners, and adults, and I have successfully taught around 300 students from different backgrounds. My teaching philosophy is based on patience, clarity, and steady progress, as I believe every student can learn violin when guided in the right way.
I focus on building a strong foundation by teaching correct posture, bow control, finger placement, and tone quality, while also making sure lessons are easy to understand. I break down complex techniques into simple steps so students feel confident and not overwhelmed. Along with technical training, I include scales, exercises, and songs to keep learning interesting and engaging.
One of my key achievements is helping students move from beginner level to confident performers who can play comfortably in front of others. I also guide students in overcoming stage fear and improving musical expression. My goal is to create a positive and motivating environment where students enjoy learning and stay committed to their progress.

I teach violin using a student-centered approach that emphasizes communication, flexibility, and practical learning. Every student is unique, so I adapt lessons to suit visual, auditory, or hands-on learners. My lessons cover posture, bowing, fingering, tone production, intonation, phrasing, and musical expression, while also encouraging creative interpretation.
Real-life examples such as performing familiar songs, learning with accompaniment, and understanding music’s emotional impact help students connect their learning to real experiences.
I also include related subjects such as music theory, rhythm practice, ear training, sight-reading, and basic keyboard skills to strengthen overall musicianship. My goal is to make learning violin engaging, effective, and confidence-building.
