About Quinn
I am a passionate violin tutor with 7 years of teaching and professional music experience, dedicated to helping students develop technical mastery, musical creativity, and confidence. I teach school and college students at all levels, from beginners discovering their first notes to advanced learners preparing for recitals, competitions, and exams.
One of the most rewarding milestones in my career has been guiding students from struggling with posture, technique, or stage confidence to performers capable of playing with technical skill, emotion, and expressive musicality.
My teaching emphasises strong technical foundations, including posture, finger placement, bowing technique, rhythm, tone, and intonation, while also fostering creativity, musical interpretation, and expressive performance. I integrate music theory, sight-reading, listening exercises, and performance practice to provide students with a complete understanding of music.
Lessons are tailored to each student’s pace, goals, and learning style, creating a supportive, patient, and inspiring environment where students are encouraged to explore, express themselves, and reach their full potential. Teaching violin allows me to cultivate confidence, discipline, and a lifelong passion for music in every student.

I teach violin using a methodology centred on motivation, communication, creativity, and integrity, designed to develop technically skilled, expressive, and confident musicians. Lessons are fully tailored to the student’s abilities, goals, and learning style, combining technical exercises, creative exploration, improvisation, and performance preparation.
Motivation is central. I guide students in setting short-term and long-term goals, tracking progress, and celebrating milestones, fostering perseverance, self-confidence, and a lifelong love for music. Communication ensures lessons are interactive, collaborative, and supportive, allowing students to ask questions, share challenges, and explore ideas freely.
Creativity is integrated into every lesson. Improvisation, composition, and interpretation exercises allow students to develop a personal artistic voice and deepen their emotional connection to music. Integrity emphasises disciplined, responsible practice and respect for learning, helping students establish habits for long-term growth and success.
Alongside violin, I teach music theory, sight-reading, ear training, rhythm exercises, and introductory piano, providing a complete musical foundation that ensures technical mastery, artistic expression, confidence, and lifelong engagement with music.
