Being an avid reader since early childhood I naturally gravitated towards advanced English classes during high school, and went on to minor in English literature during college. I decided to attend law school to earn my Juris Doctor, and currently practice as a Social Security Disability Advocate.

If I were to be teaching in a group setting then I would use the differentiated instruction method, trying to reach each individual in the manner in which they personally best learn. However, in a smaller, or one on one setting I have personally found it most successful to just have an open and honest dialogue about what the individual feels he or she struggles with and how he or she feel they have best been able to comprehend information, whether school related or not, throughout the course of their lifetime.
