About Anjana
Hi! My name is Anjana, and I teach Sociology and English.
I’m passionate about teaching because I want my students to feel fully prepared — not just for exams, but for their future academic and personal journeys.
In both Sociology and English, I focus on helping students develop strong analytical thinking, clear communication, and structured writing skills. These are not only essential for achieving high grades, but also for succeeding at university and beyond.
Most importantly, I want my students to believe in themselves.
I want every student I work with to leave lessons feeling more confident, more prepared, and inspired to be the very best they can be.

About the lesson

My teaching approach is centred around collaboration and adaptability. I believe learning works best when it is a two-way process, so I work closely with each student to understand their goals, strengths, and areas for development. I encourage students to think critically, ask questions, and develop their own analytical voice, particularly in essay-based subjects.
The typical length of a lesson is one hour. However, I am very happy to adjust the length or structure of sessions depending on the student’s needs.
In terms of qualifications, I hold a First Class Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and a Distinction Master’s degree in Education.
I teach students ranging from GCSE level through to university level.
