My patient easy going manner puts the students at ease which in turn obtains the best possible performance and results to the best of their individual abilities. Without financial constraints, I would like to obtain a nationally recognised qualification so I might be able to use my experience and knowledge on a more full time and permanent basis to assist others. I am happy to work in a team based environment but am equally just as at home working under my own direction and completing tasks unassisted via my own resolve.
Over the past 30 years I have built and maintained the smooth operation of computers and home networks for friends and family. I am familiar with MS Word, XL and other MS office related software packages and some non-MS related software packages. I currently utilise my experience to assist with teaching mature students in the use of MS office, Skype, verbal and video conferencing, internet usage including emailing and web browsing. These students are taught the basics in home accounting, presentation and how to download images from websites to create impressive spread sheets. They are also taught about internet security and how to surf, shop and update their computers safely online.

Familiar with the safe operation of a personal computer, both hardware and software.
Keeping a PC safe from Cyber attacks whilst working online.

Adult Support Assistant
Supported adults with learning disabilities in a friendly and understanding manner.
Helped service users with day to day activities; getting out of bed, personal hygiene, taking medication, preparing and eating meals and keeping their lodgings clean and tidy.
Tasked with supporting service users in accessing the local community facilities; from finding employment (both paid and voluntary) to entertainment and social events.
Attempted to build and maintain good relations between service users and the general populace by promoting a better understanding of the individual concerns and needs of service users.
St Marys Infant School, Marlborough, Wiltshire. 2001-2004
School Minibus Driver
Making sure all children with learning disabilities that were in my charge had safely boarded the school minibus and were safely seated and strapped into their seats. Once safely aboard I would drive them to the Marlborough leisure centre for swimming lessons. I would assist in getting the boys changed into their swimming costumes and to get dressed again before repeating the process with the minibus to get them back to school safely.
On Fridays of each week I would take children to riding for the disabled. Once there I would often assist the teachers by walking around the track with the disabled children on horseback to ensure their safety on the ponies.
Kingsdown Road, Upper Stratton, Swindon, Wiltshire. 1985-1995
Self Employed General Builder Working from home
Started working in the building trade as a sub contract ground worker. My tasks were to assist the digger driver to safely excavate trenches for building foundations. Also needing to dig trenches by hand for laying service pipes and cables for residential and business premises.
Progressed to working on a self-employed basis; building up a new client base whilst maintaining good business relations with existing clients. Broadened my building skills from laying cables, pipes and paving slabs, to building complete extensions for private customers. At times needing to hire in subcontractors for electrical and plumbing works to be completed by registered professionals.
Maintained simple book keeping and expenses records, for an accountant, to deal with tax and insurance.
