About Isla
I have 6 years of experience teaching Computer Programming to students ranging from complete beginners to advanced learners preparing for technical careers. I earned a B.Sc in Computer Science, which gave me strong foundations in algorithms, software systems, and computational problem solving. This academic background helps me teach coding in a way that is both structured and practical.
My teaching style is supportive, clear, and focused on deep understanding. I believe learners succeed when they feel comfortable asking questions and learning through guided practice. I help students build confidence by breaking complex problems into simple steps and encouraging independent thinking.
Outside tutoring, I stay active in programming through personal projects, exploring new tools, and keeping up with modern software development trends. Programming becomes exciting when learners realise it is simply problem solving in a digital language. Each session includes hands-on practice, encouragement, and step-by-step growth that helps learners feel confident experimenting.
Lessons are tailored to each stage. Beginners start with basic syntax, variables, loops, and small projects that build quick comfort. Intermediate learners strengthen debugging, functions, object-oriented programming, and project structure. Advanced students focus on data structures, algorithm efficiency, interview preparation, and building real applications. I provide feedback that helps students improve steadily while enjoying the learning process.
Programming teaches resilience, creativity, and logical clarity. Over time, students become more confident in building solutions and trusting their own thinking. My goal is to help learners feel empowered by coding and ready to explore the digital world with skill and confidence.
