About Ollie
My name is Ollie, and I am an enthusiastic songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer. Ever since having ears to hear the world, I have loved and had a passion for everything music related! From the age of 7, I have been fascinated by learning all aspects of music, studying vocals; guitar and composition. I graduated with a First Class Honours Degree in Music Performance, and have enjoyed being taught by some of the industry's top dogs such as Bill Banwell (Bass player for Rag'n'Bone Man); Frankie Tontoh (performed with Amy Winehouse and George Michael); Jono McNeil; Chris Johnson (two of London's finest vocal coaches) plus Adam Pain (Production and Mix Engineering for Eva Katzler, Toby Jepson and Nat Martin Band). I currently produce and write my own music working in a variety of contemporary styles. From years of practice in my craft on guitar, vocals, songwriting and production, I have learnt the fundamentals to a broad variety of musical styles. I am confident that I can teach all my students, whether experienced or not, how to successfully hone their skills whatever they may be, from learning how to sing with confidence to successfully getting a song ready for radio play by mixing and mastering with music software. Music is a language that I believe everyone can be taught and continue to learn and develop. With the right help, we can all enjoy creating music. I am here to help, support and guide you towards your own musical success and creativity.

Firstly when teaching songwriting I feel it is important to figure out at what stage the students are at, and also what best way the particular student creates and develops their songs. With each of my students we look at songwriting approaches, different genre trends, melody and harmony writing, lyrical development and also how music production ties into the songwriting process.
Recommendations
Recommendations come from relatives, friends and acquaintances of the teacher
My son Ollie has been a patient and creative piano teacher to this complete piano novice. I particularly appreciate Ollie’s ability to simplify and explain basic music theory so I can use that knowledge to create simple compositions of my own, & understand why they do or do not work. I am a long way from writing a song, but he improvised an accompaniment on guitar which made my short composition sound great! I don’t practise enough, but Ollie is always good-humoured & happily backtracks to re-teach anything I have forgotten.
I first met Ollie in school and he's been an amazing friend ever since.
He's extremely passionate and dedicated to his music. Watching him develop and master skills in recent years has been an absolute pleasure.
Whether you want some friendly advice or have a particular skill you would like to develop, I can't recommend him enough!View more recommendations
