My teaching style would be child-centred in the form of group work, debates or quizzes created by them so that students would be able to refine and ‘drill’ what they’ve learnt by interacting with one another by having open discussions about said topic. In addition, when working with my peers, I often incorporated real life modern examples related the topic so that a greater understanding can be developed, make knowledge overall easier to remember and so that higher marks can be achieved. Furthermore, I recognise that topics are not separate, so would always highlight the link between them and often shared a number of my own essays that are highly graded for others to use a model answer.
I am a current sixth form leaver, who is fresh off studying Sociology and Religious Studies at A-Level. Achieving high grades throughout the course and enthusiastic about both, I am predicted to achieve a B, and will continue to study Sociology at university level to go on to work in the secondary education sector.
Currently in the year below, and often studied with her 1-1. She really helped to solidify key concepts in sociology taking her time to explain, fill in gaps I didn’t quite get, and gave me highly marked model essays to develop my structure. Would highly recommend!
