Each and everyone has different ways of learning, and especially when learning a new language, you shouldn't be forcing yourself to stick to a method that does not fit you. Therefore, I would like to discuss what kind of learner you are, and the purpose of learning Japanese, and then try and tailor the lessons so that you would learn faster, and more importantly have fun.
For me, I believe that you learn a language faster when you are exposed to the language more, but since it is hard to be in a Japanese speaking environment here in London, various media is the key. I would like to incorporate excerpts from simple articles and books, and clips from films and TV shows in the lessons so that you can actually use and apply the skills you have acquired. Also, it is a great way to learn the culture as well!
My family is from South Korea, but I am a native speaker of Japanese and fluent in Korean and English as well. I am not a professional Japanese tutor, but I have experience in teaching Japanese to my friends. I would be able to teach you the modern Japanese that is actually used in real life, rather than tell you what "this is a pen" is in Japanese (Although that is a good place to start).
