My time in schools has developed my philosophy of allowing each pupil to have a voice in the educational process by allowing them to become more active participants in lessons. Through class dialogue and other forms of feedback I can find the most appropriate and challenging ways to teach the curriculum.
In September 2013, I graduated with a 2:1 Joint Honours Degree in Spanish and French from Queen’s University Belfast. During my time at Queen's I became proficient in the Spanish and French Language while also exploring key issues in the Hispanic and French speaking world. As part of my degree, I spent 10 months abroad in Valencia, Spain as an English teacher and 2 months in Grenoble, France where I completed an intensive French course. I also completed my Post Graduate Certificate in Education at Queen’s where I had the opportunity to develop the main teaching competencies and qualified as a teacher in July 2017.
