About Nuria
Since I arrived in Glasgow, the previous October, I became self-employed tutoring Spanish to different levels from Beginners (A1) to Advanced (B2.1). At the moment I am teaching four students regularly every week.
On January I enrolled a volunteering program called Language for Water Glasgow. 4WATER is a student-led project exchanging a range of skills such as dance, arts and languages for charitable donations, which are given to WaterAid. Every Monday I have the opportunity to teach Spanish for beginners for a group of 15 students in Boyd Orr building.
On 2016 I was teaching Spanish as a volunteer in “Pla d’Acollida Poble-sec per a tothom”, Barcelona. The aim of this project is to bring Spanish language closer to recently arrived people in order to facilitate their integration in the society.

As a Teacher of Spanish as a Foreign Language, I have learned how to organise motivating and dynamic lessons using the Communicative and Task-Based method which I have put it in practice volunteering as a Spanish Teacher in Barcelona.
I consider myself to be a patient and an empathetic person therefore I can easily create a comfortable environment in the class which encourages the students to participate during the lesson and to feel confident.
I come from the design and arts sector, that’s why I am always willing to use my creative side for different purposes when planning and doing the lessons. Teaching helps me to keep learning as well, and preparing lessons will enable me to strengthen my knowledge and experience.
