About Maria
I am from Colombia, and grew up speaking both English and Spanish at home. I have an English and Creative Writing Degree, as well as a Translation Studies MA. Words and languages are my passion and I love sharing them with others.
I love meeting people who are interested in foreign languages, learning is exciting for me and being able to share my knowledge with others is a gift. Thanks to my translation experience I have an acute understanding of how English speakers approach and understand Spanish, which allows me to tackle your questions from your point of view.

I offer personalised classes catered to your interests or desired exam board. I have experience teaching students of all ages, particularly secondary school age students and young professionals. Usually my lessons are 1 hour, however, 2 hours are available too depending on your needs.
Each student has a personalised worksheet for their lesson, focused on the topic at hand. I like to teach through hands-on exercises, rather than lecture style lessons.
I also have experience with specialist language for example, legal Spanish. For school-age students, I have experience with the GCSE and IB exam boards.
