About Filips
Hi! I’m Filipp — a native Russian speaker with a neutral Latin American Spanish accent. I spent part of my childhood in Ecuador, and ever since then, the Spanish language and culture have become a natural part of who I am. I now live in Barcelona, work at an art residency, design jewelry, and do handpoke tattoos. I especially enjoy working with students who want to learn Spanish in a natural, real-life context, not through boring grammar drills.

Over the past year and a half, I’ve:
* Helped a student overcome their fear of speaking.
* Prepared a teenage student for school exams.
* Taken three beginners from zero to A2 level.
* Completed a teacher development course, joined a teaching community
* Now I co-create custom lessons with my wife (who was once my student too!).
As a language learner myself (English, Latvian, German, Italian), I know how hard it can be. That’s why my lessons focus on:
* Real conversations tailored to your interests.
* Less theory, more practice.
* Extra learning tools like Quizlet, apps, videos, and music.
* Homework only if you ask for it.
Each student is different, and my teaching reflects that: no templates, no boring repetition.
