My parents are Cuban. I was raised in America so I speak perfect Spanish and English. I know all the slang, the common sense phrases, and everything that matters when speaking to another, so they actually understand you. You can spend all day learning words that the whole population does not even use and there’s no point learning the wrong English.

This is the common sense way to learn a language without wasting your time on learning words that no one uses in that language. I made this mistake myself learning other new languages.
