About Christine
I am an experienced educator with a background in individualized teaching and extensive experience helping learners develop skills, confidence and independence. I hold a Level 5 TEFL certification and am also a certified Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) Educator.
Throughout my career, I have specialized in meeting learners where they are, identifying their individual strengths and areas for growth, and creating supportive learning environments where they feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and building confidence. I bring that same individualized approach to English coaching.
As a native English speaker and educator, I offer a patient, encouraging and professional environment where learners can practice without feeling self-conscious or judged. I understand that knowing English and feeling confident actually speaking it can be two very different things. My goal is to help bridge that gap through meaningful practice, constructive feedback and communication that is relevant to each learner's professional life.

My approach is practical, personalized and conversation-based. I work with professionals who already have a foundation in English and want to become more confident, fluent and comfortable using it in real workplace situations.
Rather than following a one-size-fits-all curriculum, sessions are built around each person's goals, profession and individual communication needs. We may focus on conversation and fluency, expanding vocabulary, pronunciation and clarity, listening comprehension, or preparing for specific situations such as meetings, presentations and workplace conversations. Grammar is addressed naturally as needed, with feedback and correction incorporated into meaningful conversation.
A typical session begins with conversation and a clear focus for the day. We may introduce useful vocabulary or expressions, work on a particular area of difficulty, and then apply those skills through discussion, role-play or a real situation the learner is preparing for. Whenever possible, I encourage learners to bring their own workplace scenarios and communication challenges into our sessions so that what we practice is immediately relevant and useful.
What I bring to my tutoring is an extensive background in education, individualized instruction and confidence-building, along with Level 5 TEFL certification. I believe people learn best when they feel comfortable enough to take risks, make mistakes, ask questions and try again. My role is not simply to correct English, but to identify what is getting in the way of effective communication and provide supportive, constructive feedback that helps each learner progress.
These sessions are designed for working professionals who can already communicate to some degree in English and want to strengthen their oral communication skills. They are particularly suited to intermediate learners who understand English but would like greater confidence, fluency, vocabulary and ease when using it professionally. Sessions are available online or, by arrangement, in person at a mutually agreed-upon public location in the Pointe-Claire area.
