Special Education Needs Teacher offering literacy/numeracy adapted methods and techniques to help children with difficulties in Ealing Borough

Methodology

A lesson will always start with fun introduction. A game related to the objective targeted. We then move to apply what we learned in simple exercises using different techniques and methods that attract the child and reduce the stress. The child will never feel the failure, he will be improving in different ways which entertain and motivate him along the lesson. He can be learning in different setups (On a table, on the flour, on a couch, standing,..)
After checking what is the child's motivator I start using it to encourage him to focus and stay on task until completed. I use timers and limit instructions.
At the end we resume the lesson with highlights of the main objective and the success he made.

Background

I have been graduated and worked as a Special Education Needs Teacher for more than 10 years in different countries including London and Lebanon. I have added to my education a master degree in Inclusive Education from Reading University and helped children with special needs improve by adapting teaching methods and techniques. I can help children with 3 languages English,French and Arabic. And I guarantee a fun motivated session for all children.

Mariam's CV

A specialised inclusive education professional with a Masters degree from one of the most reputable inclusive education universities in the United Kingdom. I have been working in special education for ten years. I have taught diverse groups of students with ADD/ADHD, autism, learning disabilities, speech impairments, and visual impairments. My skills in differentiated instruction, assistive technology, and multi sensory lesson planning help me to meet the needs of every student.
My years of experience have taught me the value of patience and encouragement in the special education classroom. I work closely with each student, providing an individualised support and praise they require. I explore alternative solutions and resolve difficult situations. As an ambitious and hard-working individual, I am often recognised for my commitment and ability. I handle multiple tasks on a daily basis competently, working well under pressure. I am an efficient team member. I make sure to stay connected with family members and any specialists involved, to encourage the success of each student, both in and outside the classroom. I’ve truly appreciated and learned from every child and every family I have worked with.
I work with individuals and groups of pupils to deliver learning programmes taking into account SEN additional requirements.
I encourage pupils to interact with others and engage in activities led by the teacher, which may include participating in physical activities with the pupils.
I use appropriate approaches and programmes e.g. ABA/VBA/Team Teach/Makaton
I assist with the development of basic literacy, numeracy and ICT skills and to support their use in learning
activities.
I assist the teacher in creating and maintaining a purposeful, orderly and supportive learning environment
for all pupils particularly helping to overcome multi barriers to learning including physical , emotional and behavioural difficulties.
