About Connor
Hi everyone :)
I’m Connor, a psychology graduate and specialist guitar tutor with over 10 years’ professional experience supporting neurodivergent individuals across autism services, SEN education, and adult mental health settings.
Alongside my work in mental health and specialist education, music has always been a constant in my life. I’ve seen first-hand how powerful it can be — not just as a skill, but as a way to build confidence, emotional expression, and a sense of achievement.
My background means I understand that learning isn’t one-size-fits-all. I bring patience, structure, and psychological insight into each lesson, adapting to the individual rather than expecting them to adapt to me.
Whether a learner is picking up a guitar for the first time or rebuilding confidence after difficult experiences in education, my aim is to create a calm, supportive space where progress feels steady and achievable.

I offer calm, adaptive guitar lessons for neurodivergent and SEN learners.
My lessons are structured around the learner — their pace, sensory needs and confidence — with a focus on enjoyment and steady progress.
Learning happens best when a pupil feels safe and settled. If a learner is overwhelmed or distracted, I prioritise helping them regulate before focusing on skill development.
I also find it useful if skills are broken down into manageable steps so learners experience regular success. Confidence builds through consistent small wins rather than pressure to achieve a lot quickly.
In addition to these strategies I offer either 1 hour or 45 minute sessions. I find this slight time difference useful in combating attentional fatigue when it occurs.

Travel is included in fee within a 15 mile radius of Leafield (OX29).
Beyond 15 miles a small fee of 50p a mile will apply.
