About Gary
I have been involved with young people’s/ young adult’s work, including mainstream education and teaching, for over twenty-nine years, working in a variety of roles; socio-economic issues, urban and rural settings around the U.K. I have worked both as a volunteer and employee for both statutory and community/faith based organisations. I have the vast experience and skills (academic and vocational) that go with working with and alongside young people, their parent(s) and/or carers and the agencies that work with them. I always seek to be an agent of positive change, an educator/teacher for learners, seeing that their needs are ideally met. I always promote inclusion, seeking to overcome “obstacles” or barriers to learning/ participation when and where they arise, be it a volunteer with mobility issues to a young person with behaviour/ mental distress and challenges – (both personal experiences). I have a proven history in academic/ educational provision and training projects I have covered various curriculum's and prescribed desired outcomes. I believe I have the skills, the flexibility, imagination and initiative to work in a changeable and challenging environment.

I work on a "find fault and fix" methodology after the learner has completed a Initial and diagnostic assessment. I work with individual learners at their pace, seeking to overcome their "obstacles" to understanding and mastery of mathematics. The learner is at the centre of my approach to teaching/tutoring.
