Hi, I'm Sarah - I'm a different type of teacher... not much like your teachers at school. I like working with kids who find school difficult at times and helping them to feel good about the learning and themselves. I can help break down some of the things that you find hard at a pace that you feel comfortable with.

I have been a specialist teacher since 2014, working in a local authority to help teachers to understand the needs of children presenting with SEMH needs.
I have a BSc in Psychology, a PGCE in Education and am certified to deliver CPI-SI - a course specialising in de-escalation, emotional support and post-crisis approaches.
I strongly believe in a person-centred, trauma-informed approach to engaging children and young people. I believe our most reluctant readers and writers can be engaged through this approach.
Lessons would be developed in liaison with parents to determine the needs of the child which will inform lesson length and content.
