About Gabriel
I'm a Senior Data Engineer with over 6 years of industry experience. This experience spans from small startups to industry-leading global enterprises. Throughout my experience, I've built, scaled, and maintained data platforms. I've consulted and led projects with technical and non-technical collaborators, and most importantly, I've mentored and managed junior and mid-level engineers, analysts, and developers. Industries I've worked in include Architecture, Automotive, Technology, Real Estate & Consulting. The most impactful and important words I've heard from people who have coached me in the past have been: 1. Continue to be a pleasure to work with; it goes further than any technical skill you have. 2. It's not the tools, it's how you use them. Ironically, these can be interpreted as statements that downplay the importance of tooling and programming languages. In reality, number 1 is what makes me want to teach and continue in Data Engineering, and number 2 has taught me how important it is to deeply and intimately understand your tools.

The first lesson I provide is free of charge. In this lesson, I'll learn about you and what your needs are! Before that - how do I teach? Enjoyment and understanding, that's it. These two things are the most important I've found whenever I've taught people. So, I follow these steps before teaching to ensure that you enjoy it and get what you need out of our lessons. 1. Gauge why somebody wants to learn something - your reason, your why. In this case, why do you want to learn SQL? 2. From my experience, create a learning plan and prepare resources specific to your level and 'why'. 3. Guide you along the learning plan and help you fulfil that 'why'. One of my skills is making complex and/or technical concepts simple for laymen or learners, so please don't hesitate during the first free lesson I provide. To test my claim on something you may already be struggling with. I hope to see you soon, and I don't - I hope you're flourishing.
