About Philip
I was a National Merit Finalist in high school and have more than ten years of experience as a high school math teacher including SAT test prep and International Baccalaureate. I completed my B.S. in electrical engineering at Case Western Reserve University and my M.S. in electrical engineering at Stanford University. I have also completed coursework for the Master of Arts in Teaching at USC, and was approved for all 3 math subject exams for a California teaching license.

The current SAT math exam allows use of both the graphical display calculator (TI-84) and desmos in all math sections. I will explain to high school students how to solve problem types and specific examples in the most efficient way considering the student profile. I will teach students to leverage the calculator to overcome algebra gaps or to accelerate their problem solving.

Philip taught me Math in 11th and 12th grade and has helped me become more confident in this subject. His willingness to help and vast knowledge paved my learning path with focus and clarity. He is smart, but more importantly determined to work with students in achieving goals. While Philip teaches math, I'd say he's great with people too. And I recommend him because of his strong didactic in helping others grow.
