About Maxim
I'm a 2nd-year student at MGIMO University — Russia's top diplomatic and economic university, often called the "Russian Harvard" for international relations. I'm specializing in International Economic Relations, so I know how to communicate clearly, structure arguments, and adapt to different cultural backgrounds.
My English level is C1 (Cambridge Certificate), which means I don't just speak English — I've studied it. I went through the exact same journey you're on: from shaky sentences to fluent conversation. I remember every awkward pause, every forgotten word, every moment I wanted to give up. That's why I know exactly how to support you and push you at the right time.
Besides university, I'm genuinely obsessed with languages. I've taught Russian informally to exchange students at MGIMO, and I spend my free time reading linguistics blogs and watching polyglot vlogs. I'm not a boring philologist — I'm a fellow language nerd who happens to be a native Russian speaker.
Fun fact: I've lived in Moscow my whole life, so I know the city inside out. If you ever visit, I can give you a list of hidden-gem cafes and bookshops where you can practice your Russian with real locals.

My approach is simple: 70% speaking, 30% theory. I don't drill cases and declensions — instead, I throw you straight into real-life conversations from lesson one. We'll talk about your day, your hobbies, your work, or whatever you want. When a grammar point comes up naturally, I explain it quickly and clearly, then we keep talking.
Typical lesson: 60 minutes. We start with a 5-minute warm-up (how was your week?), then dive into a topic you choose — or I suggest something fresh. Every 10-15 minutes we switch activities: dialogue, listening to a short video, role-play, or reading a funny meme. The lesson ends with 5 minutes of recap and a tiny homework assignment.
My teaching toolkit:
· Authentic materials — real Russian social media posts, YouTube clips, songs, and memes
· Visual grammar cards (one page per case — simple and memorable)
· Topic-based vocabulary lists with examples
· Voice message homework via Instagram — you record yourself, I reply with corrections
