About David
Maths has been the constant thread through my career: a first-class degree, a PhD in Statistics, and years afterwards using maths and data in industry, most recently on a Data Science and AI programme at Cambridge. I began training as a maths teacher this year, but I'm deferring that for a year to focus on tutoring instead. I teach because many students who struggle with maths are more capable than they think, and helping them find that confidence is genuinely satisfying. Outside maths, I play chess, run, and swim outdoors year-round.

I offer patient, one-to-one maths tuition from GCSE through to A-level, drawing on a first-class Mathematics degree from Southampton and a PhD in Statistics from Kent. In the first session I find out exactly where a student is, what they find hard and how they like to work. From there we build up step by step, making sure each idea is secure before moving on, with plenty of practice on real exam questions. Lessons typically run for an hour and suit students working towards GCSE or A-level exams.
