I am an Associate Member of the British Academy of Composers, Songwriters and Authors, and an Associate Member of PRS, and a member of the Mercury Musical Workshop. I am also an Affiliated Member of DIGIS, Cambridge University.
- Tell me about some of your current students.
An eight year old student of mine won a prize at the 2016 Battersea Piano Festival, and many of my students have achieved Merit and Distinction passes in their ABRSM theory and practical exams. I organise concerts for my pupils: it's important for them to have the experience of playing in front of an audience.

Stephen is a very talented musician with a great skill for teaching piano and making the experience enjoyable. I remember the agony when I used to take piano lessons and it made me see it as a burden. But Stephen taught our kids in such a way that they feel proud when they play, they put themselves forward to school concerts and also they fight between them on who gets to play the piano next. While I believe it is very important that one enjoys learning, Stephen also focussed on the important aspects necessary to getting the kids through the grade exams and master music theory. I strongly recommend Stephen as a piano tutor who has been teaching our kids at home for more than 6 years.
Stephen’s teaching methods are fun as well as educational. And our son has certainly thrived in his love of music and playing the piano since we were lucky enough to have had Stephen recommended to us. We would have no hesitation in recommending him.
Stephen is a very good piano teacher . He has taught for many years now two of my children with remarkable results, my daughter got 2 distinctions in the last 2 exams.
I have been studying with Stephen since 2014 and I couldn't have picked a better teacher. He has been able to motivate me through my piano studies allowing me to develop as a musician; he's not only teaching me how to play but giving his background in composition too he's always providing me context and useful tips on how to perform. Not only Stephen is excellent technically but he's a top notch example of how to complement technique with musicality and all-around learning. Last bust not least Stephen is friendly, professional and simply a pleasure to be around.
I am a retired lady who has taken up piano again after a lapse of many years. I find Stephen an entertaining and helpful teacher and particularly appreciate him allowing me to progress at my own pace as I am only playing for my own pleasure.
ChristineStephen Daltry has taught my children piano for just over a year and they have both flourished in that period of time. My older child can now read music and play a number of tunes competently and my younger son who only started a few months ago is also progressing very well.
Stephen has also encouraged their interest and enthusiasm such that they both really enjoy playing and practice willingly.
I have no hesitation in recommending Stephen.View more recommendations
