About Keith
I started my career focusing mainly on acting. Along the way I realized that I had a voice that needed to be put to use. Going to school for musical theatre performance taught me a lot, but I was constantly being expected to fit into a box that wasn't right for me. I was overwhelmed with music theory. and vocal technique. Voice lessons were often confusing, intimidating and uncomfortable. The basics of breath control and support have stayed with me but I discovered that if I learned singing through the experience of singing, I was able to develop a sound that was all my own while still maintaining the basics of healthy practices that allow me to perform flawlessly show after show. I was able to hear my own voice without attempting to sound like someone else. Flash forward to today and I have been a lead singer and front line vocalist for over 20 years. I'm not constantly worried about notes, or reading sheet music, or technical aspects of singing. I'm able to live in the moment while I'm on stage and truly enjoy what I do without a million things running through my head, I love what I do and I love to help people who want to enjoy singing without feeling like they have be something they aren’t.

Singing should be fun! The joy that it brings to those of us who do it, and those who listen to us, is the reason we choose to follow this path. At the same time it can be intimidating, and cause stress and anxiety to perform in front of other people. I prefer to work with people who are just starting out and want to learn to improve their skills and confidence, using their ears. I have many years of training but where I've learned the most is through experience. If traditional voice lessons seems intimidating to you, you've come to the right place. We aren't going to sit at a piano and plunk out notes. We aren't going to do uncomfortable vocal warm ups. I'm not going to ask you to sing opera or musical theatre (unless YOU want to) I ask my students to start with a couple of songs you want to sing, find backing tracks they like ,and we will start a zoom session by talking about your goals, with the song you've chosen, and start singing. Working with me is more like having a karaoke party with someone who has the experience to help you to improve your vocal technique without the fancy stuff.
