About Kasum
I'm not only a teacher — I'm an active performer in many styles.
Trained in the tradition of the Russian violin , American jazz and fiddle school . I perform and teach classical, fiddle/folk, jazz, and contemporary music.
.. when the right hand is automatic, I teach left hand completely without open strings.
Why?
1. Intonation. No open strings to hide behind. You have to hear every note.
2. Positions from day one. You immediately learn that the fingerboard is yours, not just first position.
3. This is how real music is played. Beethoven Violin Concerto, Rondo - all professionals play it on one G string, in positions. Nobody plays it jumping on open strings.
That performing experience is what I bring to lessons: real stage know-how, beautiful tone, relaxed technique, and musicality that works in any style. Whether you want to play Bach, film music, Irish fiddle, or improvise, I'll help you sound like a musician, not just a student.

My school known for big, beautiful tone and effortless playing. That's what I teach.
Most students come to me with the same problems: tight shoulder, scratchy tone, out-of-tune shifts, or they feel stuck after years of lessons. We fix that from the foundation, not with quick tricks.
