About Olivia
I am Liv, nineteen years old and currently taking a gap year studying acting at Italia Conti before reading a degree in 2025 at Durham University. I completed my A level examinations in the summer of 2024 achieving full marks in paper two of English Literature examination and in my Coursework, gaining a confident A* as well as an A* in Christianity, Philosophy and Ethics. My GCSE results also reflect my hardworking character with 9s in English Literature, Language and Religious Studies, amongst other subjects. My interest lies in the humanities and I would greatly enjoy teaching GCSE students all that I have learned in my time at school. The confident A*s that I received at A level, reflect my intricate understanding of the mark scheme and what examiners are looking for, knowledge that I can assuredly teach students entering their GCSE examinations.

Personalised help for students is the forefront of my teaching, identifying students strengths and weaknesses to tailor my help accordingly. Patience is also highly important to me - having been tutored for my maths GCSE I know first hand the pressure of public examinations, so I wish to create a comfortable environment in which students can ask questions as much as they need so that we work as a team, as apprise to a talker and listener. My tutoring sessions would typically last for an hour, in which I would set out a lesson plan, check that the student did not want any specific material covered and then proceed with teaching and some questions to test their learning toward the end of the session. In the past I have been part of the tutoring team at my school and sixth form - after school I would spend time helping GCSE students with humanity subjects, providing a drop in environment, creating lesson plans on the spot for the specific student. I received full marks in my English A - Level examination and coursework, and an A* in Religious Studies, these subjects providing me with in depth understanding of the subjects and the intricacy of the mark scheme and specifics of what examiners are looking to award marks for. My lessons would best be suited for GCSE students for their mandatory English papers and students doing Religious Studies.
