About Felix

My school cursus :
I joined ENS Paris-Saclay in the physics department following a PTSI/PT preparatory class. I did an L3 and an M1 in fundamental physics. So I have a solid foundation in math and physics.
I am currently studying climate physics (the ocean, the atmosphere, the planets...) in M2 at the ENS de Paris. I want to become a teacher-researcher in this field.

My teaching experience:
- Sailing instructor: about 1000 hours of teaching light sailing (dinghy sailing, catamaran) to age groups ranging from 5 to 70 years old.
- Teaching assistant: 20 hours of teaching to classes from 2nd to final year in physics at Lycée Descartes (Antony).

Why this cursus:
Although in high school I was not an academic student and the first in the class, I always liked math and physics. So I went to preparatory class to become an engineer. During these two years, I learned the taste of work, the satisfaction of efficiency and above all the power of physics :) So I then studied physics at the ENS in order to have answers. What is Einsein's relativity and quantum mechanics? I discovered there the research and the freedom that it offers. Climate issues and my passion for the ocean therefore naturally led me to climate physics.

Each physical principle is associated with a quest for knowledge, a question. Why do objects fall to the ground? What governs the rotation of the planets? What is light?

In the school system, the mathematical formulas or the physical laws that you study are very often presented without explaining these questions, although they are most often the keys to understanding.

During my interactions with students, I pay particular attention to putting the concepts they are studying into context. The goal is to make students want to learn physical and mathematical concepts.

Reviewing a lesson by taking the time to make sense of a mathematical formula or a physical principle, then applying it to classic exercises or an open problem is for me a good way to pass these exams. Of course, the best is the one with which you are most effective and knowing it is very important.

I therefore propose before the session to discuss with you the notion that you want to work on, then to determine together the format of the session.
