About Joseph
Hi, I'm Joseph. I have just finished the International Baccalaureate (IB) and achieved grade 7 in Higher Level mathematics Applications and Interpretations. Aside from Maths, I love playing and coaching sports. One of the reasons I'd love to be your Maths tutor is that I coach tennis to children of all abilities and backgrounds and, in a similar way, I think tutoring is a joint project between coach and player. I enjoy working on a project or a skill with people, each session seeking to improve. I thrive off teaching others and seeing them gain confidence and improve.

From personal experience revising for 11+, GCSE and IB mathematics exams, I have found that past papers tend to provide an effective revision method. However, sometimes I just couldn't grasp what a question was demanding: I needed some guidance from someone who had a little more experience. This experience is what my lessons provide. I lead 1hr lessons, focused on developing exam technique as well as understanding Mathematical foundations and nuances. I use past papers as a starting point because they reflect the true level of an exam and reveal where work needs to be done for you to ace an exam. So whether your Mathematical confidence needs boosting or your skills just need fine tuning, I'd love to help. Having recently achieved a grade 9 at GCSE and grade 7 at IB Higher Level AI Mathematics, I would love to share my knowledge of both exam experience and Mathematical concepts. Exams can be scary and having someone who has just successfully completed two public exam series as your tutor, could alleviate some of the stress and improve confidence in Mathematics.
