About Rosie
I tutored a year 6 student from December 2018 - July 2019, and my tutee vastly improved due to my fun and informal approach to lessons which allowed her to excel in an area in which she feels comfortable. As an art student at AUB, I am able to approach tutoring from a creative angle to make sure the tutee is engaged, however I have a full understanding of English as a subject as I achieved an A* in English at GCSE and an A in English at A Level. I am flexible with timings and am able to travel within reason, and as a recent school leaver I'm familiar with experiencing the modern school curriculum first hand.

I am able to give lessons to any English student from reception through to sixth form. Each week I make my own materials and plan activities tailored to the pupil's specific areas to improve. I will usually begin by testing learning from the previous week. I will then introduce a new concept and give activities for the pupil to work through the techniques in a relatively fun and interesting way. I will then usually get the pupil to come up with their own examples as I believe this is the best way to properly embed knowledge. I will then usually end with a slightly larger task such a short writing task to test knowledge in context, which we will go through together so we can talk through any mistakes or difficulties. I will usually set a short homework task depending on the age of the pupil etc, so they can consolidate their knowledge independently.
