About Laurence
I am a very dedicated student who currently attends the highest ranked state school in the country (as per the Telegraph state school rankings) and have always been eager to learn and help other students where they may be struggling. I have held positions of responsibility throughout my school career and also take part in many extracurriculars - for instance domestic football and cricket. I will provide consistent feedback on how your child is getting on and will tailor sessions to target areas that need development. I am approachable, happy to help and will be open to answering any questions you may have - drawing upon my own experiences to ensure that the advice given is relevant and specific.

I have a great understanding and enthusiasm for the humanities as I am currently studying 5 A Levels: English Literature, History, Politics, Design and Technology and also a self-taught Ancient History. I received subject prizes for my GCSE results in: English Language (having attained 157/160), History and Design and Technology. I am very encouraging and dedicated to the goal of helping your child fulfil their potential. I am approachable and will endeavour to create a positive working relationship with your child. I believe communication is key in order to ensure that you are pleased with their progress and have a good understanding of what we will cover in the sessions. I am reliable and well-organised, with a keen eye to detect areas which may need work. I have previous experience in mentoring a fellow student in areas they found challenging in their English GCSE. Having recently experienced success in these subjects, I bring a unique insight into what it requires to achieve the goals for your child and I will be there to support them. As I am studying for my A-Levels currently, this provides your child with a tutor more closely linked in age and experience, hopefully ensuring that they are able to connect to a greater extent and find the sessions more fulfilling. I am offering 1-hour sessions for students in years 5 to 11 from any current skill level, in order to help them to acquire a wide range of key literary skills including essay writing and analysis.
